Jammu Police Arrests One, Recovers 22 Rolls of Banned Chinese Gattu Thread in Sandwan

In a significant crackdown on the illegal possession and supply of hazardous kite-flying material, Border Police Post Sandwan arrested one person and recovered 22 rolls of banned Chinese gattu thread (Dhaga) from his possession.The accused, identified as Harsh Gupta S/o Suresh Gupta, R/o Ghou Manhasan, was apprehended by the police team of BPP Sandwan. In this connection, FIR No. 173/2026 U/S 223 BNS has been registered at Police Station Domana.Preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was allegedly involved in supplying the banned Chinese gattu thread. Further investigation is underway.Police have reiterated that banned gattu thread poses serious risks to human beings, animals and birds due to its sharp and hazardous nature. The public has been advised to refrain from using or purchasing such prohibited material and to report its sale or distribution to the police.Jammu Police will continue strict action against persons involved in the illegal possession, sale, supply or distribution of banned gattu thread.
