Under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, a training programme on “Sustainable Farming Practices through INM/IPM for Cashew Growing Farmers” was conducted on 17 June 2026 in Koppal District, Karnataka, jointly organized by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Karnataka, the Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development, and the University of Agricultural Sciences Raichur.
More than 100 cashew farmers participated in the programme, where scientists and experts provided guidance on soil sampling procedures, soil health management, natural farming, balanced use of fertilizers, alternatives to urea and DAP, use of complex fertilizers, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for sustainable soil health and improved crop productivity, and opportunities for women entrepreneurship, with the objective of promoting sustainable and profitable cashew cultivation.
