2 trucks loaded with firewood seized

2 trucks loaded with firewood seized
KATHUA, JUNE 28: In its continuous drive against the illegal smuggling of firewood, two trucks carrying firewood were seized for LT Rules violation. The Truck bearing Registration No. JK21H-5083 with NOC generated from NTPS portal for exempted species and carrying non exempted species seized by a team headed by BO Mastgarh Gandeep Singh and I/C Checkpost Korepunnu Dheeraj Pankaj at Dhaloti Jasrota Range.
Another truck bearing registration No. PB22K9920 carrying Eucalyptus species and firewood under grab of NOC generated from NTPS portal was seized by team headed by Range Officer APCP Lakhanpur Sanjeev Singh at Lakhanpur.
The cases have been registered at Range Office Anti Polythene Check Post Lakhanpur and Range Jasrota for violation of section 41, 42 of Indian Forest Act. 1927 and provisions of SO 81 of 2020 and DFO Kathua order regarding restriction on night movements and confiscation proceedings have been initiated. Further investigation is being carried out.
