KATHUA POLICE ATTACHES MOVABLE/IMMOVABLE PROPERTY WORTH 14.58 LACS OF DRUG KINGPIN AT POLICE STATION BILLAWAR

Kathua,20 April:- As a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers/smugglers, Police has executed attachment operation by PS Billawar resulting in the freezing / seizure of moveable property i:e scooty bearing Regd. No. JK08M-4244 worth rupees 80 thousand approximately and immovable property Double storey building worth Rs. 13.78 lac owned by drug Kingpin namely Rahul @ Rotu S/o Balbir Singh R/o Ward No.4 Tehsil Ramkot Distt. Kathua. The action was taken by Police team headed by SHO PS Billawar Insp Zaheer Mushtaq and assisted by I/C PP Ramkot Ranbheer singh under the supervision of SDPO Billawar Sh. Neeraj Padyar JKPS and over all supervision of worthy SSP Kathua Sh. Shobit Saksena IPS under sections 68 A.2 (c),& E read with 68-F of the NDPS Act of 1985, dealing with provisions for attachment of properties of drug peddlers/smugglers.The drug Kingpin Rahul is presently in Judicial custody in case FIR No. 69/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29/NDPS Act of Police Station Billawar and is also involved in multiple cases registered under NDPS Act at PS Billawar district Kathua which includes:1. FIR No. 69/2023 U/S 8/21/22/29/ NDPS Act of Police Station Billawar 2. FIR No. 170/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act of Police station Billawar. The Immovable property (Double storey building )and Moveable Property (scooty Activa) was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/inquiry conducted by the police with the help of transport and Revenue department. The properties was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the drug peddler. This operation reaffirms the commitment of Kathua Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed this unprecedented initiative of Kathua against drug dealers.
