In a significant achievement, Cyber Police Station Kishtwar of Kishtwar Police traced and recovered 54 missing smartphones valued at approximately ₹10 lakhs. The recovered devices were handed over to their rightful owners.SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, accompanied by Addl. SP Kishtwar and Dy. SP Headquarters Kishtwar/SHO Cyber Police Station Kishtwar, formally handed over the recovered smartphones to the owners, bringing immense relief and satisfaction to them.*While interacting with the public, SSP Kishtwar emphasized the importance of maintaining proper cyber hygiene and urged citizens to remain cautious while using mobile phones, social media platforms, and other digital services to prevent loss of valuable data and misuse of personal information.SSP Kishtwar further informed that any person who has lost their mobile phone should immediately report the matter and register their complaint on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. He highlighted that the CEIR platform enables users to block their lost or stolen mobile phones and also provides regular online updates regarding the status of recovery.Kishtwar Police remains committed to leveraging technology for public service and ensuring swift action in cases related to cybercrime and loss of electronic devices. Citizens were also encouraged to promptly report such incidents to the nearest police station or Cyber Police Station for timely assistance.
